few days

These past few days have gone by super fast.

Last few gigs done, they've gone super well to carry on our amazing streak and we are almost done now.
One last one to go tomorrow.

And I'm currently in bed with Spanish.
Watching Gordon and drinking tea.
Me, Spanish and The Cat.

I'm so ready to go to Finland and see A. in her summer house.
Just sauna and reading and rowing and drinking tea and swimming and sunning or not, whatever.
So ready for this.
I want some things done beginning of the week, not later than Wednesday - some more, some less practical.
Brother's birthday, I absolutely will go for a massage (my body is so so tired, the touring takes it's toll eventually), sort out my e-mails, sort through my clothes (Spanish and I wanna go for this humongous clothes sale), then take a lot of paper and writing utensils with me and go to Finland. To write, and sketch, and think all the thoughts and write down all the ideas.
Good.

This is such an amazing development from last year.
Vocally, physically, and for me most importantly - psychologically.
By the end of the tour last year I was such a mess, all over.
A. came to visit and she was literally like, calm down, now.
This year has been so enjoyable, and I'm really sad this tour is almost done now.
So awesome, being able to measure development.

Over and out for tonight.

With love.

Last week in visuals

Down South.

I decided to pick some blueberries in preparation for the breakfast next day.

Our gig on one of the islands. Obviously an actual storm hit when we arrived.
Everything tried to fly away, from the music, to the music stands, to like, the sound stuff.
It was super. My inner storm wolf was pleased.

Beach attire. We stayed at my auntie's house, which is next to this lake.
Needless to say, I spent every minute I had to spare there.

The pianist dude we're driving around with said the other day that we've passed the 4000km mark.
Happy July!

We gigged at this manor house as well.
And the owner is a super cool man.
Best idea in the world - hammocks all around the place.

My auntie's house.

Christmas tours..

I love them.

I mean, I really do. I love the Christmas tours.
I've been doing them for a long long time. I've been singing Christmas concerts pretty much forever, the tours came after. But still. Singing at Christmas is like such a fave of mine. Such a massive fave.
Granted sometimes it's annoying when my friends are making holiday plans and my answer tends to be "No, sorry I'm singing in Blah-ville that night", or "No, sorry, I'll be sitting in a car on my way to Schmeh-town".
But, it's AWESOME over-all.

However, one thing does crack me up so much, or frustrate me loooads, depending on the day.
I was getting ready before a concert last Friday and I laughed out loud at the stuff I was putting (or piling) on.
We use churches as venues (insert discussion about Estonians loving churches during these hols) and they tend to be cold, for obvious reasons. But I can't just wear jeans and a parka. I have to, or rather, I still want to be in my nice dresses and look the holiday-y part, which means one thing: LAYERS!

So I took these two photos, like 2 minutes apart. No 1 I genuinely look like I could be preparing myself for a mountain hike or whatever, and then BOOM, back in the game.

But seriously, it gets cold. I usually don't care, but when a venue's so cold that I can see the warm air leaving my mouth as I sing (you know, when it looks like steam, or like everyone is just casually exhaling smoke), then I get a bit worried.
So, therefore, all hail thermo-wear!

Happy Christmas.

oh so sappy

Love is so beautiful. And I guess that's the problem. The bittersweet tantalising.

Love. We go crazy for it, and some die searching for it.
And the funny thing is that a human heart is a muscle.

Love. And the pain that comes with it. And the fact that words are just nothing compared to it. Nothing. It is absurd, the whole thing. And at the same time, the feeling, it's everything. It is all.Madness, and such addictive madness.

Oh, where art thou, cynicism?
(Jokes. I'm actually a sappy little sap-sap all the time, I simply hide it. And really well, thankyou very much.)

(I think these are the effects of singing 22 concerts consisting of songs about love. And variations of.)

Sappy,
M.
