fresh ink

Happy fresh-ink day, guys!
Happy Tuesday, happy nighttime and happy tattoos.

Tattoos.
I love tattoos.
I love symbols.
It's magical, the power a symbol can carry.
Especially one with meaning to the carrier.

So here's my fresh ink.
I got the first one for my 20th and now this one for 25.
I want and need this to remind me, every day, that we should never try and control the uncontrollable.
Life flows like it flows. And all we can do is ride the wave, or drown under its mass.
And to help ourselves along, we have the 3 to take care of: body, mind and spirit.
Usually, when you balance your mind and get that peace going, your body will align itself, and as long as you'll feed it well, things are just rolling along. And then the soul or spirit can do its thing.
And THAT'S where freedom lives.

And unless there's freedom, things cannot flow and move and stay in motion.

Ride it, or drown in it - the wave, by fact and definition, stays the same.
It doesn't change.
It's what You make of it that's different.
And that is Life and how I see it.

And I'm learning balance, and patience, and riding the wave, and letting my soul be in motion.
I'm learning to not hold on quite so tight.
I'm learning to LEARN from whatever comes my way.
And for this reason, my friends, I got a new symbol.

My symbol, my growth, my lessons, and gratitude to everything that comes my way.

Flowing like water.

LOVE.
Ride the wave.

tao

Love
Embracing Tao, you become embraced.

Supple, breathing gently, you become reborn.
Clearing your vision, you become clear.
Nurturing your beloved, you become impartial.
Opening your heart, you become accepted.
Accepting the World, you embrace Tao.
Bearing and nurturing,
Creating but not owning,
Giving without demanding,
Controlling without authority,
This is love.”
~Lao Tzu, The Teachings of Lao-Tzu: The Tao-Te Ching

blade

Standing on a blade.

According to A., one must simply love it, the process, the blade and all the rest.

I like telling people they are interesting.
I really do.
More than that, I like finding people who actually are interesting.

Also, I fear the uncertainty, of people.
It confuses me and frightens me.

This is also coincidentally why I take comfort in being so sure, all the time, about everything.
It looks like strength, conviction.
It's not.
It's just my avoidance of blind panic, at the randomness of people.

i should write
i should create
i should act
i should dance
i should box
i should climb
i should yoga

Yours truly.

Tuesday, August 27

in case you're wondering..

..this is what I did 6am on Sunday night. Or morning. Monday morning.
Well whatever you'd call that time, this is what I did.

The reason for this madness was L's birthday.
I did use a wall to help me, but I did it nonetheless.
And I'm super proud.
Truly.
That feeling of accomplishment I got from spending 7 seconds upside-down was just beyond glorious.

Today I've sent The Email, that I had been ignoring for quite some time.
I also plan to send another email (which consists of three), one which I have also been ignoring for quite some time.

I had this realisation last night, walking home. (I guess this is one towards which all my work has been moving.)
And it was just this moment where I understood in some way that all of us Know everything anyway.
(I know this sounds fairly ridiculous, but please, bare with me.)
The truth of the matter is, if we could only shut up these problems, these fears that we're taught, these complexes and the rest of the bullshit, then all that remains is knowledge.
Pure, simple knowledge.
Understanding of our own worth, our path, the "next move".
All the "what I need to do next".

Truth is, we are not born with fear.
Humans are said to be scared of two things, and two things alone (..not clowns):
- Darkness
- and Falling

So the rest of the crap just happens.
The "Life-happens" syndrome, as I've come to call it.

Unless we ask for what we want, we won't get it.
Unless we know ourselves, we won't know what to want (..on the soul-level. I'm not talking new shoes.)
Unless we accept ourselves, we won't know ourselves.

So forget what the first grade bully said, or the ex-boyfriend, or that one friend, or your aunt who thinks she has All the Answers, or your dad that one time when he was angry, or your mum who's scared of new things, or the friend who wants something else than you, or the society, or some book or another.

Because no-one knows You, like you know You.

And the fear, it's not yours.

Yours truly.

reading list

...from Rachel Brathen.
If you don't know her, go check her out.
http://www.rachelbrathen.com/

Anyway.
A super short reading list I plan to come back to after Finland and Midsommar.
Law of Attraction by Esther Hicks.
And also some Eckhart Tolle. I think this has been a long time coming.

I hope I get along well with these books.
I want some reading to really, really shake my brain.

And it's also time to update the blog appearance once more.
This always means a time to get back to writing and drawing and doing creative things a lot more.
Cause it annoys me to no end when I realise that I've been in a non-creative hole for a bit.

Oh, also, I realised the tour is starting soon so I want to start practising the piano, ready to utilise the grand pianos in the concert places.
So excited. For this.
Seriously.

And so here I am, downloading some music, drinking tea, and getting ready for my Fin-dventure a la Midsommar-madness.
Packing list also includes:
Swimsuit (for the forest lake YES)
Drawing pad (I need to sharpen dem pencils)
"Women who run with the wolves" (Recommend strongly)
And of course, in true Nordic style, mosquito repellent.

Have a super awesome weekend everyone.
I plan to return on Monday night having spent time drawing, swimming, breathing, meditating, probably skipping over some meadows, and just resting. Fingers crossed I get to row a boat. That would simply be nothing short of ideal.

So.
Not to underestimate the weekend ahead.
Not only is it the turning point in the year, and the seasons, plus it should also be some crazy moon situation, as I've heard.
Think good thoughts.
The shortest night of the year is so good for this.
And those Nordic ones reading this, go into a forest and see what's going on.
I mean, there's a reason our ancestors did that. Go find your luck and good fortune.
Spend some nature time. Get muddy and dewy and wet.

HAPPY SOLSTICE.
I'll leave you with Lana.

Peace.

granny

The granny I'm absolutely going to become.
This is me just before my 100th birthday.
Which is also when I decided to die.
After the birthday, that is.
100 and then, c ya!
It gives such good structure I feel.

Granny with a cigar.
I'd sooooo tell the BEST stories.
The LIVING best.

Here's to hardcore Grannys.

sense

this makes the most sense
out of anything
ever

no knowledge is knowledge unless you make it yours
unless this means something to you it's useless
so even if someone you respect to the Moon and back says something and you simply don't agree with, you don't have to bend your mind to do that

if it matters to you, keep it.
if it makes sense to you, believe it.
if it makes you feel clarity, follow it.

it doesn't matter whether it's a system or whether you've borrowed bits and pieces from here and there - if it is something that makes you grounded and hopeful and excited, if this knowledge is yours, that is the only thing that matters.

Sense.
