lonely-cat time

Someone's having a PROPER party somewhere in our apartment building.
IT'S SO COOL!
One of them has a guitar and they are singing soooo many well known folky songs.

And so it's Friday night..

And UGH.
Whatever.

I was gonna write about stuff, but now I'm just over it.

sad
sad
sad
sad
sad
sad
sad
sad

Wtf.
For no reason.
So fun.

But as always, I'm working on it, roots up, to really get rid of it.
And as always it's a lack of personal TLC time.
Always is.
And the response is always to turn to external fire extinguishers, but I'm really trying.

So instead, here's a photo of my breakfast this morning with the Spanish one.
She's been gone about a second and I really miss her. Ridic.
We so did not finish our chats today.

Her's is the omelette, mine's the pancake (with fresh strawberry jam, not ketchup).

The gig tonight was another full house.
On our way to TLN I really thought I was gonna go into town, with the Pisces-2.
But then I got a bad case of a guilty conscience - gig tomorrow, should rest, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

blah
blah
blah
blah
blah

Bottomline.
Now I'm home, thinking WHERE IS MY PARTY.
Where are the people I want to see?
UGH.

Anyway.

The point is.
It's a messy night.

They keep getting sparser and sparser.

And I really, really wish one day they'll stop coming.

WHEREISMYPARTY.

F_k YOU, conscience.

Iggy

I absolutely love this video, and the beat.
And Iggy in general.

I know some people have had an issue with her wearing a Sari and whatever, but I think she uses the Indian atmosphere really respectfully, letting it shine.
This joyous, party atmosphere.
Of just dance, dance.
It really is like a Bollywood party scene, the ones that come at the end of a movie, where the boy and the girl make up, or something is solved, or you know, along these lines.

And trust me - I come at this having watched a fair share of Bollywood in my life.

BOUNCE.

Friday, June 28

out out, anyone?

So, here I was.
On the trolly bus, on my way home. Thinking of the quiet Friday night ahead, spent analysing the poems that the tour-songs are based on.
All no-make-up, dirty hair, random flip-flops, having spent the day with the Spanish one, dumplings and sunshine.

So, as I said, here I was.
And lo-and-behold, one of my homies sends me a message saying that she absolutely wants to go out and no one's taking the bait.
To which my answer was: "Have I ever said "no" to you, my dear?"

I've now done my hair, my face, and I just need to get dressed.

THIS IS SO GOOD, let's be honest.

Why? you may ask.
Well, that's because the next time I have a free weekend the calendar says "3rd of August, 2013".

That's why.

So off I go, to Yolo- and Humourland.

Peace.

thursday

Today is going to be a good day.
And tomorrow is going to be a good day.
And Saturday is going to be a good day.
And Sunday is going to be a good day.

So these are my weekend plans in a nutshell.
Simple, huh?

And to celebrate Thursday, I shall post a photo of a beautiful white space, someone doing yoga and a puppy.
(By the way - I will absolutely learn how to do a handstand. This is fact. I just need patience. Keyword: PATIENCE.)

No but seriously - E and I lined up our plans earlier, and all-good everywhere.
Today I'm going for coffee with a friend in this super cozy cafe in the Old Town in TLN. And it's sunny outside. Then to dad's for boardgames.
Tomorrow I'm staying over at the pretty one's. Saturday is party night.
And I plan to use my new gym-membership (....yesssssssssssssssssssssss............) for some running and sauna time.

Just
peaceful
times
continuing

I hope you're all having a kick-ass Thursday.

Stay peaceful.

retrograde

So, apparently Mercury has been in retrograde for quite a while now, and shall remain like this until the 17th of March. (Potential after-effects till the 6th of April.)

This is meant to come with a period of high intuition, lots of awesome coincidences but also the chance of our plans not working out the way we hoped.
This period is good for rethinking, rewriting and reviewing. Not good for big solid decisions.
And it usually comes with a big old sprinkling of chaos.
So basically, don't take things personally, meet up with old friends and - as a dear, dear, dear friend said to me years ago - trust yourself to chance, and see what happens.

This blogger/designer/persona Audrey Kitching has written an article about how to ride this wave.
For those of you who feel it, read it.
I'm gonna figure out whether I sense it or whether is it just the fact that it's the time around my birthday.

Either way, makes for an interesting google session.

Monday, March 4

for now

This is the only photo I have of the birthday proceedings, for now.
So I'm just going to say, this was excellent.
A's still here and I'm seeing her off today, as she flies back to STHLM. (And I'm following on Saturday.)

I hope you had a good weekend, sweets.

With love.
The 24-year-old.

Under this tree everything would be solved.

crazy ass kids

I've genuinely had the month of a teenager. Or a very chilled out twenty-something.
Both things very not me.
New style, ya know?
And why not.

I told a friend a week or so ago that whenever I see him I feel as if he looks like he's on holiday. Or there is just something very holiday-y about him. A certain relaxed atmosphere, or maybe it's just being so at home in your own skin? Which almost counts as a constant holiday anyway..
Well, whatever it is, I like it a lot. And I admire it about him.
So why not snatch it?

let them in
let them in
let them in
HEEYYYY

(ps, I WAS wearing trousers. just the jumper at 7am was no longer tucked in.)

öös on asju

Envy and greed, honestly. Honestly. They like making a strong comeback.
But enough of that.

In other news, I have a massive urge to throw a dinnerparty. But it's more one of those fantasy ones, not with no-longer-alive people, but rather people who never spend time on the same continent.
Everyone would wear dresses (because why not) and no one would complain about not feeling pretty, because all of them are pretty. Emma Stone has said that it is far more important to be funny, or honest, than to look a certain way. I like her so much.
Back to the dinnerparty. So, everyone would feel beautiful, but in the serene sense of the word. The kind of beauty of contentment type of thing.
There would be a large wooden table, I'd serve some fresh salad, some great cheese, and grapes, and some cold and hot meat, soft-boiled eggs, good bread, and wine, and for dessert there would be a sorbet or an icecream and of course, I would bake something. Or make soufflés. And there would be lanterns, and candles, and maybe fairylights. And really quite conversation-enducing music, something from the jazz legends, Ella most probably. And there would be loads of chatting and laughing, the kind of laughing when people don't care what they look like, and at some point probably singing as well, cause no one really cares enough to mind, and why should anyone care anyway? Singing is great. Especially if the occasion, much like this dinnerparty, is suitable. And at some point someone would say that they want to read a poem, and they would. Again, cause no one cares about what you "should", what is "cool", or not, or edgy, or "in", or whatever the stupid terms. Just be. Just the joy of being, of being yourself, as an individual, but also of being in this fantabulous atmosphere, having some food and laughing with the people you sincerely like, in your head and heart, double combo.
And this would go on till the latenight/earlymorning hours. And then me and someone else would decide that right now was the time to go indoors, so we could play a song on the piano that's standing in the corner, and whoever's cold could get some duvets going.

(I just made some dinner. Some salad, cheese, ham. So I thought I needed 2 eggs, hardboiled. Accidentally I managed to make the most perfect little soft-boiled wonders. And it's a warm night outside, and we haven't had many of those lately. I mean, really, really. Simple pleasures.)

So that is the kind of night I would like to witness. No awkwardness, no inner troubles of being, I would like to see my friends enjoy being themselves as much as I adore and long for their company. Just sit there not comparing and stressing, or measuring, or weighing, or assessing. Such a night. One day maybe. But I really really really hope so. Because the truth is, life really is too short. At least too short for any of that.
Not to short for dinnerparties and good food.

There are things in the night,M.
