reminder

Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can’t go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does.

got soul?

This is a post about soul.

If we're honest, our soul is all we have.

I gave an interview today.
It gave me some interesting insight about my very self as well.
Or at least where I am, in this life.

Things are shifting.
Everywhere, all the time.

Protect your soul.
With love.

today

Today is Wednesday.

Today I was sat at my computer in my home office (ha) writing work emails for 7 hours.
Not a joke.
Not a joke.
Also, in my PJs because I woke up and decided I had so much to do that getting changed would be a waste of time.
However, this means I got a whole big bunch of stuff done.

And now I'm going to town, to listen to some poetry by one of the guys who's singing at my Scaffolding gig.
And then the Spanish one and I will have our socks blown off by Samsara. (Google dat.)

Peace out, far and wide.
M.

PS: That's a lollipop. No joke.

PPS: We did a pretty excellent multi-media sex scene to this once. And it's also a SICK tune.

flickr

I like my flickr.
It started as a random option, a way of getting photos to the blog.
And now they updated it, and I really like it, all of a sudden.
So here you go.

No one apart from me (and now you) knows this exists, I don't keep it to pap expensive things or impress. It's just a record for me, of my things and whatever.

kaleidoscope

Yesterday I suddenly remembered how much I loved my kaleidoscope.
Something about it just made everything COOL, and awesome and I don't even know.
For the 5-year-old me it was such a mind-bending view-altering thing, more than a toy.

No, honestly, my love for that thing is boundless.
So now I've decided to find one. And buy one.
And look into it, every, single, day.

It's a tube and some stuff and that's it.
It's so plain and nothing special.
And then BOOYA - mind. blown.

And that's what life is like.
I need to buy one.
Pronto.

Kaleidoscope eyes.

arrive

I'm so confused right now, but I will just have to get over it and let it go.

Also, the fog down below just illustrates how this feels, the confusion just coming and hitting you in the face.

F*ck this.

Wish me luck.

tulips

Every year for the past 6 I've have made sure there are tulips around on my birthday. At first I always use to buy some myself and then my friends started doing it.
And I can't remember whether there are any tulips about in Tallinn in the beginning of March.
Hmmmm...

Weird.

advice

Okay, so, here's some advice that I will try and stick to till I die. Literally, die. End of my life.

Don't lose your balls.

(I sincerely hope you understand that by "balls" I mean, character.)

No one is worth it.
No one.
Ever.
At times in our colourful lives we might think that some seemingly more wonderful individuals are worth us losing our balls and/or our spines, but truth is, they are not.
Like, really.
No, honestly. They are not.
Okay, you will for the time being misplace your balls, and pretend to be something else for someone else, but once you find your spine again, then what?

Cause the truth is, if someone won't like you, love you, respect you, or even give you their time with your balls attached, they won't like you later on once you reveal them. (I mean, "SURPRISE! I'm actually a very different kind of person." Really?)

So it is truly truly easier for everyone involved if me and you walk through life the way we are, balls, spines and all, using the language we like, being as gutsy as we like, head high and proud.
Because we can only hide and pretend for so long.

I'm not just talking theoretically, I've done this too many times. With previous relationships, and meeting random people, or just subtle changes to impress someone.
It's much better than it used to be, but still I will occasionally find myself literally, literally pretending to be like something else. Or like, acting like just, NOT ME. And I catch myself doing it and think - hang on, what in the name of sweet baby Jesus was that? This is not you. This is not your character. This is you shoving yourself into a tiny tiny box that you yourself have labelled "What I think other people want".
But here's a news flash - and this is very important - people will be interested in you.
This is the scariest and the truest lesson.
(There isn't one universal Miss SuperFantastic out there that every one just faints at in trouser-dropping enthusiasm. People like different things. People differ. It's simple.)
And once we have the confidence to have faith in this one thing we will find the right people, who want to know us better, and let the wrong ones go and let them meet the people they want to meet.

Because if we don't value what we are, nobody on this sweet-ass planet ever will.

Hooray for the raw guts and character.
With love.

they arrived!!

So after UPS decided to be ridiculous and drop my package off at the wrong house (32, instead of 62) and have it signed by someone called "Fernandes" (I mean, who is Fernandes?), I'VE GOT MY TRAINERS!

The saga is finished, and I'm so relieved/happy!

Meet my new Lunarglides.
(What a ridiculous/superhero name.)
(I know I sound sad, yes, well, you know. Fine.)

Run, run, rabbit, run.

Christmas + zen

I've heard so many people (more than usual) this year mention the holiday hustle, and how busy it is. So many people just saying how they don't really want to go into town, or go Christmas shopping, because everyone is acting fairly deranged, which I'm not debating.
All I wanted to say was that I just think it's such a shame that the Christmas holidays for the majority have become something that takes away their energy as opposed to giving them energy.

So since the holidays are now officially over I hope the end of the year will give you some time to gather some awesome new energy and recharge. Doesn't matter whether it's from your family, your friends, or the place you live, or the local Christmas market.
Light a candle, or whatever, and think some really nice, peaceful, happy thoughts.

A zen-ful end-of-the-old-year to you.

2013 happytimez, ftw

I'm finished!
The tour's done and it's been absolutely brilliant. Great audience again tonight, so all was good.
However, I have to say I'll be happy to have some time to get back on the fitness train.
The eating's fine, I'm on that train nice and steady, but I really miss the workout. My body got properly used to it, and I've been so busy, or lazy, or tired - or all three at the same time.
So I miss moving.
Yoga, or Pilates, or a good long walk, or some exercise at home, or whatever. There's so much of it, and I don't really mind. Swimming is good as well. I'd love to rollerskate but that will have to wait.
For now, it's any of the selection above.
As long as it gets the heart rate up.

And if any of you are doing the same thing, please, don't forget to eat.
Seriously, if you don't eat enough, your body will pretty immediately go into its distress mode and as opposed to getting rid of the unnecessary bits of the fat tissue, it will eat at the muscle.
Eat 4-5 times a day to keep your body happy. So it doesn't get rid of your muscles. Muscles are awesome.
If you don't believe me, do some reading. There are so many great blogs and websites and alllllsorts out there.
Just don't undo your own good work, and don't harm your body. Cause it's great.

Speech over.
Get moving and get endorphin-ed.

claireruns:

Crow pose! #yoga #armbalances By the way, the tops from Lorna Jane are fabulous at the moment. The fabric “sticks” to your leggings/pants and it means your shirt doesn’t fall down in tricky poses. Great for when you don’t want your tummy hanging about in yoga class. :) (Taken with Instagram)

saturday night

So.

We went out last night.
I'd spent the whole day in town (surprise-surprise) so I was a little knacked.
So what ended up happening was this -

No, actually, I thought that if I'd do this to my face I'd actually get up and get ready.
Which I did.

People were coming round - girls, to get ready at ours - and I was just sat there, top of the stairs, with an eyeliner pencil in my hand, just seeing what I can do.
I was quite pleased.
Then I put on a coat, backwards, and starting waltzing with AJ. She said: "I suddenly had the urge to kiss you." With my face, LIKE. THAT?
So it was an interesting beginning to a Saturday night.
The rest of it wasn't nearly as interesting.

But there.
Make-up.
