home

You can have the home you want.
Even if you're technically not a million miles away from civilisation.
You can still have the life, the atmosphere.

I saw it today.
Went to a rehearsal.
The guitarist who's summerhouse I was at for a while, this August.
And today we had a rehearsal at his house, technically in Tallinn.
But to the quieter, seaside suburb.

And Jesus wept, what a house.
The same atmosphere as in the summer house.

That's what I want.
I'd never seen anything like that.
That sort of atmosphere, not somewhere far far far away.

Magic.

Yours truly.

TRT

I'm back! Again. My second return in a week, or something.

Tartu was super.
It's our university town in the south of Estonia.
I stayed with some old suuupper friends, and it was so lovely I could almost die.
Both nights revolved around food, tea, food, tea, and chats, more tea and lots more chats, and boardgames. In short, an ideal combo!

It's strange how you have some people with whom it simply doesn't matter when you saw them last, or where or why or whatever, point is, you gel, immediately.
And it's one of the basic fundamental joys of the human life I think. Or at least, I regard it extremely highly.

And so I'm back in the capital, where it's warmer and less snowy.
I got the 7:46am train back with K. which meant a 6:45am wake-up, and now I feel almost like I've never had any sleep ever.
But seriously, this was a super duper 2-night break. So much delicious food, and lots of good atmosphere.
Also, shoutout to "Jane" for being a wonderful-wonderful hostess lady person! (Pingviiiiiniiiiid)

And now my cat is licking his little cat balls in a patch of spring sunshine. (...Too poetic not to share, sorry!)

Now it's tea-time and food time, and then I'm going to the gym, to run on a sunny treadmill and pretend it's warm enough to do that outside.
And lift my weights, like a machine.

Happy Tuesday, guys!

Go, adventure.

Central-Estonia on the bus journey to TRT and snow, snow, snow. Happy mid-March!
Groceries in the bike basket. Simple things

Evening walk last night in the freezing cold. I really liked the lighting on the bridge
Light work, "Snake". Fine by me
Morning train! Hello, TLN.

cape

A. gave me a cape.
I literally felt like Batman.
It was pretty awesome.

Can't wait for spring to find a Batmobile and hit the town.

Cape.

Sorry for the marvellous quality.

sthlm

So it's my last night in Stockholm and I'm watching Lord of the Rings, the first one, and A's making vegetable soup.
Tomorrow, my flight leaves at 3pm and then it's back to TLN.

This has been an awesome visit, and a strange one at the same time.
But the awesomeness outweighs the strangeness ten-ten-ten-fold.

The awesomeness.
IT'S SPRING HERE.
I mean, honestly.
There's a photo below of one of the bridges in the centre of town, going towards Gamla Stan, the old town. And the sea/river thing is free of ice! I mean, free of ice! As a Norseman, this makes me so happy I was just stood there yesterday, staring like a seagull or something.
And A's flat is like, beyond superb. It's white, and practical, and cosy and just like, SUPER. Honestly. Again, Maria wants a nest, vol. 2000.

And it's been a highly highly educational visit, in so many ways. But more of that later on.

You live and you learn. And the important things anyway are friends, and homes and spring!! Which will always come again.
And feeding ducks, and parks, and music, and smiling at strangers, and being open to stuff, and seeing the King (which I did, by the way), and I don't even know.
The important things which we sometimes think about.
But that's stupid.
And a waste of time.

So as spring approaches, I won't forget.

With love.

tuesday

I've been very useful today. So I give myself a point!

And we've got an awesome awesome Tuesday planned! (Since it is my last official day. OH. MY. F*CK.)

AEM and I are gonna get up at 7AM and go to town for breakfast. We've got a table for 8.30 at this place http://www.gordonramsay.com/bread-street/
And I'm so going to have eggs benedict. Ahhh, eggy B, my old friend. (And probably some pink grapefruit.)

Then we're meeting J. at the Barbican tube station around half 9 to go to the Barbican for the Rain Room installation.
Rain Room is a hundred square metre field of falling water through which it is possible to walk, trusting that a path can be navigated, without being drenched in the process.
http://random-international.com/work/rainroom/
It looks absolutely incredible. Apparently the queues are like crazy (3-4 hours) so we're getting there an hour and a half before it opens. We're going armed with boardgames (connect-4 and battleship which I love) and I'll need a can of Sprite I think.
And then AJ is joining us a bit later.

Once we've seen the Rain Room and got our minds blown to particles AEM and I have some errands to run, after which it's PANCAKE DAY!
Since it's Shrove Tuesay it's time for some Pancakes. For the 5th year in a row I'll be making the pancakes. The thing is I don't really like eating them, but gosh, do I love making them.
And then we're going to the cinema to see Django.

And then I'm going to sleep, think some good thoughts and not freak out.
I keep swinging from loving everything and everyone to being so scared and anxious to back to this total sentimental love again. It's much like a rollercoaster, honestly.

But this is where I have to give credit to the girls at home, E., the pretty one, K. for their unfaltering excitement at my return and being so positive. Otherwise I just couldn't go through with this. So I'm just taking a moment to be grateful.
And of course, A. who's like a brother, a sister, a pet, and a grandad all rolled into one.

Here's to shifting yourself.
All my love.

town

Yesterday and today was for town.

Yesterday I went central and walked about for a bit. Spent significant time in Waterstone's, the book store, and then in HMV browsing the classical music section. And got an item from each place.
Then I met AEM and we went to see Midnight Tango, which is the second time I've seen this show (in addition to watching it on the DVD which I bought immediately after visit number 1) and it just keeps getting better. We saw this show a year ago, which might as well be 700 years. I remember what I was like, watching that show a year ago, and I'm so much happier now, and things are just going in a good direction. One year. That's all.
Then we made our way back home and had hot chocolate.

Today got the train in and went to Barbican (which is the largest culture centre in Europe and therefore kicks butt, so hard) to meet a dear friend, who I really don't see enough of. We had coffee and good chats. She's one of the people who is just so nice for my soul, can't explain it any other way. Just so so nice in my soul, and for my soul.

2 days of town, and I've got 2 conclusions.
1) London is a glorious, glorious, glorious city of the world. Just glorious.
2) I'm so happy I'm moving and getting a much much much needed change of pace.

So both things are correct, and good in different ways.
I've got a week left to enjoy this marvel of a place and then I get to go Home.

Good thoughts.

flowers

Good morning!

Hardly moring, but oh well. My porridge, Classic FM and I are having a great time.

And today I'm going to (London-)town with AJ, for some tea at this place (http://www.camelliasteahouse.com/) and a little snowy walk in town.
I've spent way too much time indoors with boxes.

Last night was gamenight. We played 3 games of "Reis ümber maailma" which means "Trip around the world". And it was brilliant.

The other day I had flowers in my hair, and had the most fun-inducing pony-tail.

I hope you're having a good day.
And if you can - play in some snow.

With love.

boring

I'm currently bored, by myself. As in, "I" am boring "me".
Hahahaa, such a ridiculous statement! But I mean, really. I can't even like, begin to describe. To be honest, you must have quite a good idea since you read this blog. But you know.
I haven't worn anything but my tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie for I don't even remember how long.

Tomorrow is a day off.
I will take one day, and I will refuse to think about moving.
I'm gonna meet H. in town, and we'll do something fun, exciting, and un-boring!

Current total is 8 boxes, and around 75kg.

Later on I think I need a good-long full-works bath, and to just sit, and watch TV or something like that. Keep up with some Kardashians, or watch the new Grey's anatomy. Or do my nails, some beautifying routines anyway. Something to remind me that there's more to life than dusty boxes, and trying to figure out whether I desperately need this one specific thing in my life or not.

I feel like a sock.
No, thanks.M.

first things first

First things first.

I was checking my blog “facts” and apparently there are people who read it – so, you…  – from quite a few different countries, some of which I don’t have any friends in. Soooo in short, before this gets too sappy and out of hand, thank you for reading.

So.
As promised, the past few days.

Yesterday was awesome.
I got up same time as AJ and went to town with her, in the morning. I walked her to her office and then walked about on my own for a while. It was so weird being right in central with some shops still shut. It’s one of those things – I love being awake early enough to enjoy the “morning time”, but then the next day I’ll rapidly change my mind. A bit of a shame, cause seriously, I like it, a lot.
Then met up with one of my friends from Tallinn who was in town for a bit. So we went and had some egg based deliciousness.
I went and got some seasonal bits and pieces, before flying home. I’ve had a little Christmas list for a while, for family and friends. And after a fairly fun-deprived hermit-style two months it was literally like 5-year-old-o-clock. I was so excited to be out and to be buying socks for someone (don’t judge, they are actually awesome), or some tea for mum and you know. Just little things, but I’d been waiting for it for so long. Oh, and I got a jumper for myself as well – it’s red and has a mothertrucking raindeer on it. I feel that Christmas is not the time for “cool”.
AEM came and met me for some more walking (why I wore heels – no one knows..). We went to have some dinnertime food at the Pizza Express at St. Christopher’s Place, one of my favourite little corners in London. I don’t even know why, it’s just this tiny tiny square, with some shops and food places on it. But there’s two ways of getting there – you can either approach it from the actual road, OR you can enter via this tiiiny pedestrian path, from Oxford Street. And I mean, when I say tiny, I do mean tiny. It’s right there, and people just walk past it. You’ll definitely pass it when walking down Oxford Street. It’s just so sneaky. Like Narnia or something. Minus the lion.
(More pictures to follow.)

Also.
I finally made the “official” announcement to my housemates that I’m moving back to my hometown for a bit – this being Tallinn, Estonia. It hasn’t even begun to sink in yet. I’m gonna have to do something or something whatever over Christmas to make it more concrete. Otherwise it just feels like floof, you know?
Crazy.
But it feels good. This decision.
More about this later I guess, maybe. Maybe not.

So here I am. Sat on a plane. Sitting in the aircraft. In air. Hovering, above actual clouds. Wearing my reindeer jumper. I’ve never written above ground. This is weird.
It always gets me – this whole above clouds business. Cause I mean, they are clouds. The clouds. And then you are above them. Like, what?
I know this entertains A. somewhat, when I get like this. Marvelling at random things, but like, to a slightly weird extent. Like in Croatia, we went for a swim and the water didn’t appear to be much deeper than a couple of meters, and you could see the bottom of the sea clearly, so close. We were swimming really close to the beach. So A. said she thought it was much deeper. Being a mermaid she decided to show this to me and vertically descend, feet first. I was to stay floating, and observe.

And so this 170cm-ish female just went and went and went till she was TINY. AND MY MIND WAS BLOWN. A. came back up and I was like – “HOW IS IT THIS DEEP OMG THE BOTTOM IS RIGHT THERE YOU CAN SEE IT YOU CAN SEE IT”. This of course is all to do with perspective and blah blah, okay I get it. But seriously, it just BLEW my mind. Just seeing her become smaller and smaller, being RIGHT THERE. UGH. Seriously!

As you can see I still haven’t got over this..
Same thing with being above clouds.
